One key issue of this campaign is accountability and transparency between government and citizens as I believe our county government has consistently missed the mark in this regard. Both have been very important to me in my private and business life and will be a focus of mine during the campaign and into my tenure as a county commissioner.
I also believe actions speak louder than words. To this end, I’m releasing a criminal background check and resume verification that was recently completed by Verify More, the nation’s leading provider of verification services for political candidates. You can view my reports below.
It has always struck me as odd that becoming a politician comes with no more qualifications than showing up and winning the popularity contest where candidates frequently misrepresent themselves. Nearly every job in our society requires applicants to submit to some form of background check – except for the job of representing us and making decisions on our behalf. That’s why I was so glad to find that Verify More, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides these services and that they were founded right here in Washington.
I challenge the other candidates in this race to submit to the same verification so that voters can have trust that we are all representing ourselves accurately and in a trustworthy manner.
